I believe I am descended from John Southey of Islington and am very interested in confirming this.  Is this the John Southey who married Mary Ann Kay, dau. of William Kay/Key and Mary Ann Botheroyd?

I am descended from John Southey's daughter Ann(e) Southey, wife of Henry Penfold whose daughter Leonora Cordelia Penfold was my g-grandmother.

My descendants are confirmed through Anne Southey and I am trying to firmly confirm which John Southey (her father) I am descended from.  I am also very interested in finding out any historical information concerning any of my family, particularly historical documents.  Leonora Cordelia Penfold was named after her two Southey aunts, Leonora and Cordelia.  She even named my great aunt Leonora Cordelia and I believe that they had a very close family connection.

My family seems to have been merchants in the wines and spirits trade, as well as diversified property owners in the Barbican area.
